As part of Ian and Sheila’s desire to support the work of local suppliers and craft,
here are the current featured artists whose work is on view and for sale:
William (Billy) Dobbie was brought up in the East End of Glasgow. His artistic abilities were recognised at school where he won gold and silver medals for art. He graduated from Glasgow School of Art in the late 1970′s, since then he has built his reputation at home and abroad. His work can be seen in private collections in America, Australia and the United Arab Emirates and well as throughout the British Isles. Commissions have been undertaken for major corporate clients and he has worked alongside some of the country’s leading major charities. From a young age Billy had a passion for Glasgow, paintbrushes and boats. Billy has since combined his passions to become the Official Artist for the Tall Ships in Greenock in 1999, also Boston Tall Ships in 2000 and again the upcoming Greenock Tall Ships in Greenock in 2011.
Charlie Clegg is only 15, but he could give master cartoonist Gerald Scarfe a run for his money. Charlie, from Clarkston, has been drawing since he was a toddler.
Ian Brown, “Charlie is so talented, some of his work is awesome. He did some sketches when I was at his house and I thought they were amazing, so I asked him if he would do some for the restaurant. Now we have four of his brilliant drawings on the walls. They are good fun and add to the atmosphere of the restaurant”
